CMEE Mad Hatters "Thank You" - Cakes of the Hamptons

Mad Hatter

CMEE Mad Hatters would like to thank Diane Roncone of Cakes of the Hamptons for her scrumptious cakes for our big day. Cakes of the Hamptons is a private cake company that caters to individual clients, and specializes in wedding and specialty cakes. Diane believes that cakes can be unique and delicious without breaking the budget. Whether it’s covered in fondant or buttercream, handmade gumpaste flowers, looks fun, funky, or beautiful, bring your idea and she’ll help turn it into a reality.

Clovis Point Vineyards

Here is a cake I did for Clovis Point Vineyards on the North Fork of Long Island. It was so fun to make! I love doing hand-crafted leaves. First I rolled out fondant and cut out the leaves. Then I used a "veiner" to make imprints of the leaf veins. After the leaves dried, I hand-painted them with various fall colors, then steamed them to give them a little sheen. I love this cake! If you want a great wine, visit Clovis Point (I recommend the award-winning 2007 Merlot!). Check out their website at: www.ClovisPointWines.com or visit them on Facebook!

Mad Hatter Tea Party

The Mad Hatter Tea Party... what fun!! The Children's Museum of the East End (CMEE) holds a Mad Hatter Tea Party every spring and Cakes of the Hamptons provides the cakes. This year I made a "Magic Teapot" cake and the kids (and adults!) loved it! It was whimsical, and the looks on the children's faces were priceless! I'm already coming up with ideas for next year's cake. Check out their current happenings on their website at: www.CMEE.org.
Here are some photos from the event:
